How Strong is Strong Enough? by Jordan Burnett –
Let me start by saying that I hate this fucking question. It’s a question that I get asked at least once a week, and rather than pulling my hair out little by little as the weeks go on… -

Starting A New

I’m 63, 5’10”, 185lbs. 12 Weeks ago I was squating 240 and deadlifting 325 for work sets.
After a major cardiac event and two stents later, I’m now planing to reenter LP again at the bottom. Are there anythings that will be different from my NLP seven years ago? Should I expect anything to be different?
I won’t be able to start until my Cardio Rehab is finished in a month, but I want to get my expectations set for the task ahead.
Mark Rippetoe
Start with easy weights, and take easy jumps. Progress is different for people at different stages of life.
Jason Donaldson
Sorry to hear about the cardiac trouble, Oso, but glad to hear you’re getting after it on your recovery. (It’s not surprising, with you being one the old folks here, of course…) Keep your head high, you’ve got folks rooting for you!

No going gently into that good night!

Beans and Rice
hacienda
Is it true that a meal that combines beans and rice provides a complete protein (similar nutritional value to animal protein)? I know that beans are incomplete by themselves, but I’ve heard that adding rice makes up the difference, and that this approach can be used if one is in a pinch. I’m not a vegan, just wondering if I’ll be able to keep getting strong when the grid goes down.
Robert Santana
Yep that is correct and that will work when the grid goes down. Just stay alive and keep training if that happens.

So a carne burrito with rice and beans truly is super food.
